Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Dominate MTV VMA Nominations!

It wouldn’t take much effort for Justin Timberlake to make us love him even more than we already do. And he just might be planning that – soon.

Justin Timberlake and lesser known Beyonce Knowles (ha!) are taking over this year’s MTV Video Music Awards with seven nominations apiece.

Justin’s nominated for a number awards this year including video of the year for “What Goes Around Comes Around” and male artist of the year. And his pairing with Timbaland that gave birth to “Sexy Back” earned him a ranking in the top single category.

Bootylicious Beyonce is nominated for video of the year for “Irreplaceable” and female artist of the year. Her collaboration with Shakira earned her a spot in the top single category as well.

Yes, we have a love/hate relationship with both Justin and Beyonce. It’s like they’re the male and female versions of each other – the ying yang of super celebrity power. They’re beautiful, have voices that can shake any stadium down and to top it all off, both are nominated for the “most earth shattering collaboration” award.

Between the two singers, they’re up for 14 awards in total.

Other artists announced as nominees today include Rihanna, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Akon and more.

There is no confirmation yet on whether or not former pop diva Britney Spears, will launch a comeback performance. At this point, her best bet for ranking would likely be in the “Toxic Love” category.

Wonder if Britney could pull of a wardrobe malfunction like Justin to boost her career? What a comeback boomerang that would turn out to be.

Better yet, we’d really like to see Justin and Beyonce get it on – on stage of course. Now that would be something worth tuning into.
