For a mere $1,500 bucks, you can own something almost the spitting image of Karl Lagerfeld.
Key word here is “almost”.
Next month, Neiman Marcus is releasing 2,500 limited-edition Steiff teddy bears dressed up in the likeness of Lagerfeld, but run quick as a bunny before Fifth Avenue princesses sprint to them in their five-inch Manolo Blahniks before you do. Yup, you guessed it — the adorable teddy is outfitted in typical Karl-wear, from “impenetrable black sunglasses and high shirt collar to the skinny lacquered jeans”.
When W magazine asked the Kaiser if he ever owned a teddy bear, he matter-of-factly answered, “Maybe I had one; I don’t remember. I never played with anything like toys. I wanted to be grown-up.”
Ah, how could we forget? Karl told Prestige this year that he really, really dislikes children. It all makes sense now.
